No end-of-year report cards for Upper Grand’s elementary students

Following suit with school boards across the province, elementary teachers with the Upper Grand District School Board will not be issuing final report cards for their students this year.

Instead, parents will be receiving a Letter of Promotion regarding their child’s progress and whether the child advances a grade in September or not.

The Upper Grand issued a statement on the matter Monday afternoon. A letter from Martha Rogers, director of education with Upper Grand, also went home with students Monday announcing the change.

The move locally is part of a legal province-wide strike by the Elementary Teachers’ Federation of Ontario which is objecting to the pace of negotiations on a new contract…
