On December 27, 2015 at approximately 8:40 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks on Townline Road near Gore Road in Puslinch Township.
Officers spoke with the female driver of a 2008 Honda Civic that entered into the spot check and immediately detected the odour of alcohol on her breath and quickly determined that her ability to operate a motor vehicle was impaired by alcohol. The driver was placed under arrest and transported to an OPP Operation Centre for further testing.
The driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.
46-year-old Jane MACDOUGALL of Brant County has been charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 Mgs contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on January 15, 2016 to answer to the charges.
