Puslinch Woman Charged With Impaired Driving

OPP
On April 17, 2016 at approximately 1:00 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a possible impaired driver travelling on Laird Road near Wellington Road 32 in Puslinch Township.

Officers located a vehicle that matched the description and noted that it was weaving within its lane and crossing over into the on-coming lane. Police stopped the 2004 Pacifica and while speaking with the female driver detected a strong odour of alcohol on her breath and noticed other obvious signs of impairment. She was placed under arrest and transported to a local OPP Operation Centre where she refused to supply a sample of her breath for testing.

Her driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days as per statute.

49-year-old Karen CURTIS of Puslinch Township has been charged with Impaired Driving, Refuse to Provide Breath Sample and Driving Disqualified contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. She is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on May 16, 2016 to answer to the charges.
