Beating the odds in any situation always presents a great sense of satisfaction for a horse trainer. Tom Durand is the latest example.

The Puslinch horseman went into last winter with just a single yearling to develop. Statistically speaking, his chances of success were limited, to say the least. History has shown that developing young horses is a numbers game. Start out with 10 and you are considered a genius if two prove to be solid money earners.
