Puslinch sugar shack burns down in overnight fire



Puslinch Fire Department deems the fire to be accidental.

The remains of a large sugar shack are smouldering in a heap following a structure fire overnight at 4338 Concession Rd. 11 in Puslinch Township.

Puslinch Fire Chief Steven Goode said the owners of the property were evaporating maple sap when a fire began sometime overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday. A neighbour came upon the shack while out on a walk Wednesday morning. Fire crews were called in just before 8 a.m.

There were no reported injuries in the incident…
