Ontario’s police watchdog is investigating a deadly crash on Highway 6 that left two people dead Thursday morning.

The head-on crash between a vehicle and a transport truck happened around 10 a.m. on Highway 6 south of Campbellville Road. The highway is closed in both directions between Freelton Road and Concession 10.

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt confirmed a man and woman were killed in the crash.

The Special Investigations Unit, which investigates incidents involving police in Ontario where someone is seriously injured or killed, said it has invoked its mandate.

The vehicle was being pursued by Waterloo Regional Police before the crash…
