Puslinch land to be expropriated for new Guelph high school

GUELPH — The Upper Grand District School Board hasn’t built a new high school in Guelph since the 1960s, but it has embarked on a land acquisition process with the aspiration to build one in Guelph’s south end.

The board placed an expropriation application notice in the local media last week. It is related to a piece of property known in officialdom as Lot 6, Concession 8 (Geographic Township of Puslinch). The land is near the intersection of Arkell Road and Gordon Street, and is currently the site of new housing developments on surrounding properties.

The notice states that expropriation is “for the purposes of the construction of a proposed public secondary school” in south end Guelph….
