Peaches and (ice) Cream Fundraiser for Sunrise

Vendors at the Aberfoyle Farmers’ Market are teaming up with volunteers from the Sunrise
Therapeutic Riding Centre to celebrate another great peach season in Ontario. On Saturday, August 15,
visitors to the market can enjoy a bowl of tasty Ontario ice cream with fresh juicy slices of tree ripened
Ontario peaches in exchange for a free will donation to Sunrise.

The peaches for this event are being generously donated by Jim and Mary Warner of Warner
Orchards. Warner Orchards have been regular vendors at the Aberfoyle Farmers’ Market since it opened in
2011. The peaches are tree ripened on their farm in Beamsville, Ontario. The ice cream will be provided
by Jayme Mast of The Dover Dairy Bar. For this special day, Jayme will be sharing her stall with volunteers from Sunrise who will serve the peaches and ice cream. As a special thank you, Sunrise will provide a
lovely “martini” style cocktail glass to the first 75 visitors that donates $10 or more.

The Aberfoyle Farmers’ Market is happy to support organizations like Sunrise, which are helping
families in Guelph and the surrounding area. Since the market began, its vendors have supported Sunrise
by donating their products for various fundraisers. The market’s goal in supporting this fundraiser is to generate more awareness for the important services that Sunrise provides to the families in the community and to provide a platform for Sunrise to promote their next fundraiser, the Hoofbeat Challenge, coming up in September.

The Aberfoyle Farmers’ Market is located in the Optimist Recreation Centre at 23 Brock Rd South
in Aberfoyle and is open from 8am to 1pm every Saturday from the end of May to the end of October. This
is a seasonal market that features fresh Ontario products. The market is run by a dedicated group of
volunteers that contribute their time to help promote family farms and local small business start ups while providing a place for the community to gather.
