Puslinch Welcomes New Deputy Fire Chief

The Township of Puslinch is pleased to announce that Luis Gomes has accepted the position of Deputy Fire Chief, effective March 22, 2016. He will be responsible for leadership and management of the training and suppression divisions. He also acts as the Alternate Emergency Management Coordinator for the Township. Deputy Gomes has an impressive post – secondary education in addition to tactical and training experience in emergency services.

Luis Gomes has served the Township fire and rescue services for over 6 years and currently works as a Platoon Training Officer with the Cambridge Fire Department. He is a graduate of the Ontario Fire College and has taken several College level leadership and business courses.

“As the new Deputy Fire Chief of Operations, Gomes will focus on the Township’s continuing efforts to provide the highest level of life safety and property protection to those who live, work and play in our community” said Fire Chief Steven Goode. “I am confident that Deputy Chief Gomes will work hard to ensure fire and rescue services staff have the leadership and support they need to safely and effectively protect our citizens”.
