Two Cars Broken Into While Owners Were Walking Dogs In Puslinch

Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Officers investigated two separate thefts from vehicle occurrences that resulted in passenger windows being smashed and property stolen on September 9, 2016.

At approximately 12:41 p.m. officers received information that a 2003 Buick was parked in the dog park parking lot located on Side Road 10 between Laird Road and Whitelaw Road while the owner walked her dog on the trail. When the complainant returned to her vehicle the passenger side window was smashed and her purse, wallet, identification etc. was gone.

At approximately 4:45 p.m. officers responded a similar occurrence at the Starkey Hill Conservation Area located on Arkell Road. The complainant parked a 2014 Chevrolet in the parking lot while she walked her dog on the trail. When she returned to her vehicle she noticed that the passenger side window was smashed and her bag that contained her purse, identification, I-Pad, etc. was taken.

OPP are reminding the public not to leave valuables in vehicles while unattended. Carry purses and bags with you, lock in the trunk or leave at home. Carry any necessary identification in your pocket and always be aware of your surroundings. If you see any suspicious persons or activities – notify police.
