Fatal small plane crash in Puslinch

On September 24, 2016 at 3:45 p.m., the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a plane crash near Watson Road south in Puslinch Township. Officers attended with Guelph-Wellington EMS, Puslinch Fire Department, Guelph Fire Department and Guelph-Eramosa Fire Department to find a badly damaged ultralight plane.

The lone occupant of the plane was pronounced dead at the scene. Identity is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.

The investigation is continuing with the assistance of Transportation Safety Board, OPP Forensic Identification services and the office of the coroner.

Watson Road south was closed between Stone Road and Arkell Road for the protection of emergency responders. It has since been re-opened to traffic.
