Puslinch Fire & Rescue Services Fire Chief concerned about recent fires

The Puslinch Fire & Rescue Services has responded lately to 3 abandoned home fires with in the Guelph-Eramosa and Puslinch regions.

“This is an alarming amount of fires that we are attending” said Puslinch fire chief, Steve Goode. “These fires are not only dangerous to the public; they are very dangerous to our fire fighters who have to extinguish them.”

We are asking for owners of properties with inhabitable buildings to please ensure that the buildings are locked and boarded up to help prevent entry. If there is a gate at the end of the laneway, ensure it is closed and locked as well. If you live near an abandoned building, keep an eye out for suspicious activity, vehicles or persons on the property that should not be there. If you think there is suspicious activity happening report it to the authorities.

If you have any information about a fire that has happened recently that is suspicious, please contact the OPP, Crime Stoppers or your local fire service.
