  1. I feel this is poor work by the OPP in this one.

IMO This is a complete joke. its small possession and everyone is over 21.

If there was driving under the influence or if there was underage kids in possession or even in the vehicle then yes i can agree with a charge and court appearance. But possession under 30 grams. what a waste…… this is something that is essentially legal medically and will be legal to all very shortly. why risk a young mans chance of traveling out of the country, getting a great job or risk having a criminal record for this??????????

I speak from experience as I can tell you how poor this charge is. I had this charge a couple years ago and it was diverted out of court and i had to make a donation. (I was told i was selected for diversion as soon as i showed up at the court house) this is before the government publicly said they would legalize cannabis.

Guess what i learned going through the courts on this?
They are not interested in dealing with this type of harmless ‘crime’.

STOP wasting the tax payers money for something that will be legal very shortly. As well the courts have enough cases to deal with that this “crime” isn’t of the interest to persecute based on societies current views.
