Aberfoyle Public School Students Entertain at the Senior’s Luncheon

Mount Carmel Zion United Church began a seniors reach out program around 20 years ago. The program started as a potluck luncheon. A few years in the volunteers decided to include entertainment for the seniors to enjoy, such as guest speakers, singers and musicians. The event became so popular the church’s capacity wasn’t large enough, so they moved to The Puslinch Community Centre.

Over the past 15 years the luncheon has grown from one to four dinners per year. Three are still potluck and one is a Christmas dinner. All funds from the Christmas dinner go to local charities. The entertainment has gotten larger as well, children from Aberfoyle Public School have been singing at the luncheon since 2008. For any questions regarding the luncheon, please call MaryBeth Sutton at 519-822-6211.
