Ready Set And READ!

Yesterday was a buzz of activity in the halls, rooms and gym of Aberfoyle School. It was the beginning of a month long read-a-thon. Each child was ask to read as many pages (primary students) and books as they can for the month of February. School council is hoping this will raise funds for a Learning Commons (library) upgrade that will include new technology, books and furniture.

We were all excited to hear Jo Ellen Bogart and Sharon Babineau share with us about what it is like to be an author. It was interesting to hear about their choices for writing. It was very much about personal connections.

The children were also lucky to have two Puslinch resident readers. Miss Janice (local librarian) and Nathan Skoufis (former student) entertained everyone in the Learning Commons.

Actions always speak louder then words. As you can see from the pictures Aberfoyle is definitely accepting the challenge.
