A Celebration Of Life: John Bishop



BISHOP, John William (Jack) – A longtime resident of Morriston, passed away peacefully at Allendale Long Term Care on Saturday, February 2, 2019, in his 97th year.

Beloved husband of the late Ruth Ord. Predeceased by his mom and dad Emily and George. Also predeceased by his siblings Robert and Mary Bishop and his brother and sister-in-law Sylvia and Kenneth Ord. Will be fondly remembered by his nephew Leonard of Nova Scotia and his niece Sharon (Doug) Laking of Millgrove, as well as three great nieces, three great nephews, three great great nieces and two great great nephews. Dear friend of the late Eileen Williams and the Williams family.

Jack served overseas during World War II. He was an employee of the University of Guelph, and was a member of Mount Carmel-Zion United Church, Morriston. He often made woodworking items for the church bazaar, he had a love of clocks, stamp collections and travel.

Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 11-11:30 am. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:30 am. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre. Spring interment at Crown Cemetery.

Memorial contributions to Mount-Carmel Zion United Church would be appreciated.

A tree will be planted in memory of John W. (Jack) Bishop in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 2:30 pm.
