Puslinch Council Approves 2021 Budget With 0.93% Tax Increase

The Council of the Township of Puslinch approved its 2021 Operating and Capital Budget
with a 0.93% tax increase. For the typical Puslinch residence assessed at $601,000, the increase
represents a $9.47 annual increase for the Township portion of the property tax bill. The increase per
$100,000 of residential assessment value is approximately $1.58 annually for the Township portion of
the property tax bill.

Taking into account the County of Wellington’s 2021 Budget and the 2021 Education Tax Rate, the
blended tax impact for the typical Puslinch residence assessed at $601,000 is 0.98% or $55.13 annually.
The blended tax increase per $100,000 of residential assessment value is approximately $9.17 annually.

Township is appreciative of the Safe Restart Funding announced by the Minister of Municipal Affairs and
Housing for 2021 COVID‐19 operating pressures and the 2021 Ontario Community Infrastructure Fund –
Formula Component funding announced by the Minister of Infrastructure for infrastructure

2021 Budget Highlights

  • Contributions of $1,365,066 into Capital Discretionary Reserves for future projects and
    equipment including contributions of $157,800 for future gravel road improvements.
  • Over $1,252,854 invested in roads, culverts, and storm water management facilities to maintain a safe and efficient transportation network across the Township.
  • Improvements to Concession 4, McLean Road East and West, Gilmour Culvert, and
    Hume Road Railway Crossing
  • Enhancements to Township parks and facilities.
