‘Still Working Through Things’: Marina Restaurant Owner Can’t Commit To Rebuild



Joel Cook couldn’t answer the question of whether he’s going to rebuild the Old Marina Restaurant.

But that’s not the only unknown looming over the $2-million blaze that levelled the McClintock Drive building on July 30. The Puslinch Fire Department is still investigating the cause.

Brent Smith, Puslinch’s chief fire prevention officer, said he is now investigating the fire and expects some answers this week.

What has been determined is the fire started in the basement of the restaurant. That fact was produced early on by employees, including Mike Robinson, a supervisor at the restaurant. It was later confirmed by Puslinch Fire Chief Tom Mulvey.
