A Celebration Of Life: William Hartung

HARTUNG, William Laverne – Passed away peacefully on February 4, 2023, in his 95th year at Hospice Wellington in Guelph. Much loved and devoted husband of the late Joyce Hartung. Loving father of Debra Marshall (John), Marie Graham (John), and Bill Hartung (Alison). Predeceased by his son, Philip Hartung. Cherished grandfather of Lacey, Karissa, Kendra, Whitney, Sarah, Victoria, Jake, Steven and Shawn. Proud great grandfather to Harlow and Willa.

Laverne’s life was family and work and he succeeded in both. His strong work ethic and dedication were exemplified in his long career at Cox Construction – he was there for 65 years and worked his way to Vice President. Laverne had a very kind and generous nature, and along with Joyce, was a foster parent to over 100 children. He was a very charitable man and, in particular, an avid decades-long supporter of the Terry Fox walks.
