Strike Looming For Children’s Aid Workers

A strike is on the immediate horizon for local Children’s Aid Society (CAS) workers.

After a day of mediation on April 4 with upper management of Family and Children’s Services of Guelph and Wellington County, CAS workers rejected the contract offered by management on April 6.

They will likely strike on April 9 at 12:01am.

  1. This is a very special Group of people doing a job that at the best of times is stressful. They need to be supported in this dispute with there employers. If Supervisors can have decent raises then the Frontline staff deserve the same. They to often are seen as the enemy if times of crisis for children. As a proud parent of an adopted Child from Guelph Wellington Children and Family Services I plead for people to do what I think is right and support the front line workers.
