Wellington County begins implementation of signage program

Wellington County’s economic development department officially unveiled the first sign of their “This Way to Wellington” signage plan at a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Puslinch on Oct. 2.

The sign is the first of 31 gateway signs to be installed on key perimeter roads across Wellington County this fall.

The “This Way to Wellington” plan is a three-phase strategy that is being implemented to offer a consistent visual communication system throughout Wellington County in an effort to enhance tourism, visitor experience, and resident pride.

“While our member municipalities have developed strong identities in their respective communities, the county lacks a similar profile,” said Wellington County warden Dennis Lever. “The implementation of the signage plan will promote Wellington County’s identity, improve the visibility of our borders, and encourage exploration of our key attractions.”
