Malcolm Shaw A.I.M, A.I.Sc.B, C.Eng.
24 August 1937 – 16 May 2019
Born in Sheffield, England, Malc was a mischievous kid and grew up to be a warm and witty man with a wonderful sense of humour, delighting his friends, family and colleagues. His working life in Canada was filled with travelling, dealing with the steel and wire industry in many parts of the world in his capacity as a metallurgist. He was always so very pleased to get home and enjoy the simple things in life. After retirement he wrote a tender and funny book “The Tap Dancing Turkey” in which he described his family life and our attempts at growing our own food, both animal and vegetable. Then, he turned his talents to creating and building a perfect house for us in Puslinch, where it was nestled into the landscape, surrounded by 40 acres of forest, through which he loved to cut trails so that we could enjoy the seasonal changes in the backyard. He was blessed by two wonderful children, Christopher and Rebecca, and three grandchildren May, Luke and Owen. His brother, David (Jackie) still lives in England.
My dearest Malcolm succumbed to complications from Parkinson’s Disease, 20 years after diagnosis.
