County Requiring Proof Of Vaccination At Libraries And Museum

Wellington County
Beginning September 27, patrons 12 years of age and older will
be required to show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination
to enter any County library branch and
the Wellington County Museum and Archives.

Upon entering any County library branch or the Wellington County Museum and Archives,
patrons must have an electronic or hard copy of their vaccination receipt confirming two
Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccination doses have been received at least 14 days
prior
, and a piece of valid identification, such as:

  • Driver’s licence
  • Health Card
  • Passport
  • Birth certificate
  • Valid medical exemptions from a qualified Physician will be accommodated

In addition to proof of a COVID-19 vaccination, anyone entering a County library or the
Museum and Archives must:

  • Pass the COVID-19 screening
  • Wear a mask at all times (ages 2+)
  • Complete contact tracing information
  • Maintain physical distancing from people outside of their immediate household

“With cases of COVID-19 rising in Wellington County and across the province, we must do
everything we possibly can to ensure the health and safety of the public we serve and our
employees,” said Warden Kelly Linton. “The Delta variant poses a significant risk to those who
are unvaccinated, including children under the age of 12. Proof of a COVID vaccination will be
another layer of protection for children under 12 and those who are unable to be vaccinated.”

“I applaud the continuing steps Wellington County is taking to protect residents from COVID-
19,” said Dr. Nicola Mercer, Medical Officer of Health and CEO of Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph
Public Health. “Expanding the locations where vaccines are required adds additional layers of
safety for residents and helps us continue to return to more normal activities.”

All patrons, regardless of their COVID-19 vaccination status, will still be able to access library
resources online and/or reserve items for a curbside pick-up. Contact your local branch for
more information.
