A Celebration Of Life: Owen Shewfelt

SHEWFELT, Owen C. – Passed away peacefully and lovingly, surrounded by his family on Friday, October 22, 2021, in his 83rd year.

Beloved Husband of the late Lois (nee McMonies) Shewfelt (May 31, 2018). Loved Father of John (Paula Eisnor), Donna and Warren (Julie). Proud Grandfather of Dallas, Landry, Kara and Dale.

Owen is finally back home with his beloved Wife Lois of 58 Years Married but having been together much longer throughout their childhood and school in Waterdown. He can now rest comfortably, knowing that they are back together.

A Successful Chartered Accountant that evolved to his amazing Career as the head CFO of Westinghouse Canada for over 25 Years and than later at Asten Johnson in Ottawa. We were so proud of him working his way up from the factory to these affluent positions. He was also on the Board for Hamilton Hydro and St. Catharines Hydro. He wanted to provide for and take care of us…. all of our lives, even now when we are in our 50’s! Dad… we are OK. Thank you for being an amazing Husband, Father, Father In-Law, Brother, Grandfather, and Friend to everyone who knew you.

His life revolved around his Family. The greatest Joy being Lois and then his 3 Children. But then his Grandchildren came along… and he was in love once again. He and Lois could not get enough of their Grandchildren. They loved spending time with them and the entire family.

Avid fisherman, Jogger, World Traveller and Crossword expert. He always used to joke that the Saint John’s Ambulance was following him, waiting for him to fall over, so they could pick him up, as he was always the last one jogging in the races!

Owen Volunteered his time with the Optimist Club, Duff’s Church and so many more Associations and people than we can mention…. Especially with helping with their finances! He told you what it was for sure!

Dad, Grandpa, we Love you and Miss you with all of our Hearts.

Cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of life will be held.
