2022 Municipal Election Nomination Information

ELECTION DAY – Monday, October 24, 2022

Anyone proposing to be a candidate in the municipal election to be held on October 24, 2022 for the Township of Puslinch may file a nomination form for the offices of:

Municipal Council

  • Mayor (1 to be elected)
  • Councillor (4 to be elected)

County Councillor Ward 7 (1 to be elected)

School Boards

Trustee, Upper Grand District School Board (1 to be elected)

Nominations to be filed with the Clerk, City of Brampton

To run for municipal office, you must be an eligible elector that on voting day is:

  • A Canadian Citizen;
  • At least 18 years of age at the time you file nomination papers;
  • Residing in the Township, or be the owner or tenant of land in the Township, or the spouse of such owner or tenant; and
  • Not prohibited from voting under any law.

Forms that are to be filed with the Township of Puslinch Clerk may be filed at the Puslinch Municipal Office, 7404 Wellington Road 34 during regular office hours, Monday to Friday commencing Monday, May 2, 2022 until the closing of nominations at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 19, 2022 (Nomination Day). Nomination forms must be accompanied by an Endorsement of Nomination signed by at least 25 individuals who are a Canadian citizen, aged 18 or older and have a qualifying address in the municipality.

The term of office will be from November 15, 2022 to after the municipal election in 2026.

Nomination papers are available in the Township Clerk’s Office or from our website at http://puslinch.ca/2022Election. Candidates must submit the prescribed nomination and endorsement forms, proof of qualifying address and pay the appropriate nomination filing fee (cash, debit (interac), certified cheque or money order made payable to the “Township of Puslinch”). Nomination fees are as follows:

  • Mayor $200.00
  • All other offices $100.00

No person who proposes to be a candidate may solicit or accept contributions for election purposes or incur campaign expenses until they have filed a nomination paper.
