A Celebration Of Life: Mary McLean

McLEAN, Mary Frances (nee shore) – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Frances McLean (nee Shore) on February 26, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Guelph, in her 81st year.

Wife of Ian Malcolm McLean (2016) for over 49 years. Predeceased by infant son Daniel Ian Cameron (1970). Mother of Alison McLean Redpath (Brian) of Guelph and Andrew Ian Alexander McLean of Puslinch Ontario. Proudest Grandma of granddaughter Cameron Alexandra Redpath. She was the daughter of the late George (1994) and Iris Shore (1977). Sister of Robert Shore (2016) and sister-in-law Sally Verlaan (2021) of Burlington and Margaret Clack of Waterdown. Daughter-in-law of the late Donald (1978) and Maude (1992) McLean. Sister-in-law of Lois McLean of Puslinch, Robert (2022) and Jean McLean of Kamloops, Alistair (2020) and Jean McLean of London, Alan “Red” (2007) and Mary Lou McLean of Guelph and Wilfred “Bill” McLean of Puslinch. She will be sadly missed by Debbie Seeley, many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Mary was a no nonsense, “take me as you see me” kind of person who only wanted to be seen as a loving and caring mother, who was honest and generous. She gave to the church, and donated time and money to the community for judging events in the annual Puslinch Fall Fair. She enjoyed live music, book club, games of scrabble, and time with family. She created art, crafts, and poetry, and tried to face the world with a smile despite enduring countless health challenges over the years. Her stamina was challenged many times, but her endurance lasted longer than what most expected and she will be missed.

Interment will be held at Crown Cemetery on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 1:00 pm. Reception will follow directly after at Duff’s Presbyterain Church, 319 Brock Road South (at the 401), Puslinch, in the in the Nanson Hall. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 519-822-0051 or www.wallcustance.com.
