Michael Chong, M.P Wellington-Halton Hills and Lloyd Longfield, M.P. Guelph on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for FedDev Ontario, today announced that the Township of Puslinch will receive federal funding in the amount of $75,000 for improvements to the Aberfoyle Baseball diamond.

This project is one of over 350- Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program (CIP 150) projects approved in southern Ontario under the program’s second intake. The Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program is being delivered by regional development agencies across the country to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation in 2017.

The program supports the renovation, expansion and improvement of existing community and cultural infrastructure, including projects that support the Government’s priorities to provide a better future for indigenous peoples and promote a clean growth economy.

The improvements to the Aberfoyle Baseball Diamond on Brock Road are in conjunction with the Township of Puslinch and will allow for new lighting and bleachers to be constructed.

Sports fields provide important recreational spaces for residents of all ages to participate in organized sports and community events in Puslinch. Investments like this will continue to provide recreational opportunities in our community for years to come.”
