Float Plane Crashes At Puslinch Lake

Last night (May 25th) at approximately 7:00 pm, officers from the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call on Puslinch Lake. A Piper PA Super Cruiser float plane overturned when making a landing.

51-year-old Ron HARPER of Puslinch Township was the lone occupant and operator of the privately owned float plane. He was brought safely to shore by a boater after freeing himself from the submerged plane suffering only minor cuts and bruises. The plane remains submerged and arrangements are being made to remove it.

Firefighters from the Cambridge Fire Department along with Guelph-Wellington Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to the scene. The Transportation Safety Board and the Ministry of the Environment were notified.
