Marijuana seized at R.I.D.E. check in Puslinch


OPP On February 4, 2017 at approximately 8:15 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. spot checks on Gore Road near Townline Road in Puslinch Township.

Officers investigated the three male occupants of a 2013 Toyota that entered into the checkpoint. Officers immediately detected the strong odour of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. Investigation revealed that all three males were in possession of marijuana and were arrested and charged accordingly.

21-year-old Jessie GREENWOOD, 22-year-old Daniel SOOKNANDAN and 21-year-old Julio Cesar VASQUEZ all of Cambridge, all have been charged with one count of Possession of Marijuana Under 30 Grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Greenwood will appear in Guelph Criminal Court on March 14, 2017 and Sooknandan and Vasquez will appear in court on March 17, 2017 to answer to their charges.
